All I can say is that Adam is SMOOTH, SMOOTH, SMOOTH. He has an incredible talent. When he sings he has the ability to make you feel endless streams of emotions. I look forward to him being the new American Idol tomorrow night. Kris is sweet and also talented but in my opinion he is no match for Adam.
Sunshine you are right on. Adam is wonderful,he has a distinctive voice. One that will be easily recognised on the radio. Can't wait untill tomorrow night.
ReplyDeleteSad thing is, until the winners can break away from AI, we won't hear a thing from them, radio or otherwise. Bought David Cook's album yet?? Oh, that's right...it's not done. Or how's Reuben, Fantasia, or the myriad of other "winners" that disappeared into obscurity??? I think the key to AI is a) to lose, so at least you can go do your kind of music (Daughtry) or wait out your year and break your contract (Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson, who again, you didn't hear anything about until she broke free). And what ever happened to the Canadian Idols?????
ReplyDeleteI agree with Carol, though I am not a watcher of this show. She is right that we really don't hear from them much afterwards. I two can only think of Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood and that Clay Akin (?). I don't know any Canadian Idol names. I think the fun is in the watching and not so much in the follow through. It would be interesting to research what has happened to some of the other winners and if Idol changed thier career path much.
ReplyDeleteI really don't know how Carol and Carolin can think for one second that winning American or Canadian Idol has not changed the contestants lives. Remember that there are different degrees of success in everything that we do. Some of these Idol winners are now international superstars. I think that we can probably name at least 4 people in this category, Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson, David Cook and Fantasia Barrino. Some non first place winners also have incredible carriers ie, Chris Daughtry, Jennifer Hudson, and Jordan Sparks. It has taken many virtual unknowns and jump started their careers into incredible fame and has given others an avenue to showcase their talent and find their own version of fame in this world. I love the Shows and I think that out of 8 American Idol seasons and 6 Canadian Idol seasons naming 7 which is half as having incredible careers is a pretty good number. I am a big fan of the show and I hope to someday see someone on their that I actually might know. If being under contract for a year and not being able to do your own thing is the sacrifice to make for unlimited success after that then I think that the prize is pretty incredible. As for Canadian Idols, the careers of Theo Tams, Brian Melo and Eva Avila are well on their way. Also Kalan Porter and Melissa O'Neal have been on the MTV awards and other big shows which happened at this point in their lives because of Canadian Idol. Let's face it unfortunately it will take our Canadian winners a little longer to be as well know as their American counterparts but what's so knew about that?
ReplyDeleteI went all the way to Drummheller Alberta, the home town of Jaydee Bixby, to buy his first CD. Cowboys and Cadillacs. It was out about 5 months after his time on Canadian Idol. Iam not a big country and western music fan but I love Jaydee's voice. He is so cute and only a teenager, I think about 17. He will be a huge star no doubt.
