Question of the Day

It seems every 20 years of so, an idea or way of life becomes in fashion again. Now of days all we hear about is going green, leaving as little a carbon footprint, etc… Have you changed your ways because of the pressure to be “green” and if so what have you done?

Leave your answer or comment under the label “Thursdays on the Bench”.

  1. My newest thing this spring in the attempt to be more "green" is my husband just installed our first rainbarrell.

  2. I do not intensionally go green. I think it is a money grab. If this country really wanted to go green the first place they would start is where the damage is coming from, "manufactures". Anything we have to pay for or pay more for is the money grab. I have for a very long time used reuseably bags. I just prefer them. Some produces I will not buy if they are way over packed. I could say a lot more about this but I want.

  3. Go for it spill, I agree totally with your comment on manufactures. If the Government were really serious about being "Green” then they would do something about the excessive packaging, especially in children’s toys. I to have used reusable grocery bags for over 20 years because I didn’t want all the plastic bags. I can remember many times being at the grocery store and the cashier just not getting it when I would say to them here use my bags please. They thought I was a nut.

  4. Well I was shopping at Fortinos today and I had to pay for my bags and that really annoyed me. I was willing to purchase some recyclable bags but they were very small. Apparently all the grocery stores will we going this route shortly. Where do I find bags that are a fair size to purchase for grocery shopping? That will be my forced new contribution to living green. We have also used organic fertilizer for about 3 years now.
